When to aerate? New to the suburbs and lawns

| We moved to an old house and plan to pay to have people aerate our lawn. Is that different from core aeration? We have lots of clay and some patchy parts so we also plan to put compost down when we aerate and reseed at some point during the fall. When is the best time to do all these things? Any other tips? We have a mix of fescue and a little zoyzia. |

| Late September. Remember, you want to water the seed multiple times a day to keep it moist while it germinates. |
