German bundesliga

I have a German au pair who just arrived and played at their level 3 “Liga” club.

I assume that means he is good, but what does that translate through level wise in the US? Division 1 good?
He is going to play in some adult leagues here but I am not sure what he would be they have advanced intermediate and advanced.

He was a team captain and super competitive so I do not want to sign him up in dc area for people that would get annoyed at him. He is 21.

Thanks for any possible it’s in right direction.

If he was on Bayern Munich's U19 or U23 team he could play for DC United.

It's the lowest professional league in Germany, but it's still professional -- which means it paid enough to make a living, but not a great one. Avg attendance in that league is around 6,000.

Around here if he's just looking to stay fit and play at a decent level, that would put him at high level amaterur.

A WPL team might be a good fit: http://wplsoccer.com/

Or in the NPSL, either NVUFC: https://www.nvufc.com/, or FC Frederick: https://www.fcfrederick.com/programs.cfm, depending on where you live.

Doesn't DCU have a reserves team?

I know who this guy is. He played in an Arlington men’s league with another German, right?

He should walk on at a university or something. He scored like 5 goals a game in advanced it seemed. He really should not play in normal leagues.
