Because playing up caught up to him and his performance against older players fell off and his handlers lived in an alternate universe and didn't want to face reality. So they chose elsewhere. |
Except, even in the case of Bethesda and Achilles, posters and parents are able to say what those clubs are good at relative to their peers. Here's another opportunity for you. Other than having most of the top players in the region, what is the DCU academy good at? |
When the DC United scout contacts you about signing your kid, ask them. |
So . . . . nothing? Got it. |
You're like a broken record. Again, for the 100th time, no one is saying don't go to DCUA. Of course you go if they come knocking. But if your DS is exceptional and gets outside offers, take a real good look. |
Right, because he wasn't performing in the upper age group, he left instead of playing in his age group. Makes sense. |
Good advice for the .000000000000001% of dcum |
Correct, sir. |
That's exactly who it's for. |
| Oh, it’s just fantastic to see all the posts about players who left DC United Academy and are now flourishing elsewhere. But what about the players who stay? Nothing to worry about, I’m sure. Top talent getting sidelined? Marginalized? Destroyed? Nah, must be part of the ‘plan,’ right? And clearly, DCU leadership has it all figured out—they’ve done wonders with all that talent at their disposal. No homegrown signings this year? Totally normal. And of course, zero players from this ‘elite’ program making the national team? Must be all part of some genius strategy that just hasn’t revealed itself yet. Nothing to see here, folks! |

These are the masterminds behind the DMV’s ‘top talent’! 😂 Check out the crew over at DCU Academy – the elite dream team sculpting future stars… or, you know, trying to.

Says you that these players are flourishing elsewhere. But we hope that's the case, because the majority of us aren't about bashing Kids and heaping negativity on them. Otherwise, why do you need dcua to live and breathe? You have no kids there, so what's the unhealthy ridiculous obsession? I would understand if you were a paying fan and upset with the senior team, but the trolling of the academy makes you a mental case. |
Sport is about opportunities. The reality is that these kids got to play at La Masia and if you think that is nothing then you're just completely clueless. Right place at right time, you never know what could happen. This one opportunity is legitimately better than 4 straight years at DCU and more than DCU will ever give your son. Be happy for those kids that they got an opportunity. And be sad that DCU is giving your kid absolutely none. |
Who said the move made sense? His handlers are the geniuses. If he was performing against upper age groups and wanted to leave DC, then Philly or Red Bulls would be easy choices. Not an extravagant pay-to-play in Arizona desert. |
