Anyone pulling kids out of camp this week because of Delta?

We have only done two weeks of rec center camp, and are doing two more between now and school starting. I feel a little anxious about it, but not anxious enough to pull them out, because we don't have other child care options at this point.

Also, we'll be doing school in person, so it seems silly to worry about camp.

My kids have been to several different camps this summer, no cases at any while we were there. Fairfax area.

Thank you! This is an actually helpful response.

Here, let me fix that for you.

Thank you! This is the response that I choose to interpret as “helpful” because it tells me what I want to hear.

My 11 yo got it at a family event last week. Super mild (seriously, thought THIS IS IT?!) and now she’s got some immunity before school. This shit is crazy contagious so better now than at school.

She may not have immunity and you can get it twice especially with the new variants.

Maybe, but maybe not. I never hear much about kids getting it more than once and I’m sure the news would be all over that if it was common.

She got the variant so she’s good for a bit lol. She did have slight symptoms.

You know that’s not how it works, right?

That is actually how it works. This is immune system 101 shit.

I’m sure the stock holders at Pfizer would like to convince you otherwise though.

What were her symptoms? I’m hearing even something like a sore throat could be a symptom.

Maybe. MCPS.

You don’t have a choice if you want to stay public.

Of course I do. If their mitigations suck, he’s not going in a building. I welcome CPS to come investigate this.
