You’re in America, why? |
I’m down with this. For at least a decade America has been swirling the toilet bowl. One catastrophic failure after another, an ever increasing wealth gap, half the population refuses to atone for or even acknowledge the country’s collective sins, sordid history, and disgusting jingoistic tendencies. The politicians won’t fix it because they’re beholden to the moneyed class. My plan is to continue to scramble to get mine and then retire early somewhere else. You all can stay on the sinking ship. |
Haha. If and when America goes down, it's not going down quietly. We're gonna take everyone else down with us. Good luck with whatever shit hole you flee to. |
Thanks for helping me prove my point. Enjoy your 2A, worshipping the flag, and the rich continuing to screw you. ‘Murica!! |
You've got me pegged all wrong. I hate Trump and the gun humpers who voted for him. But pissing on America and then running away isn't going to save you. The only way out is to take a realistic look at our strengths and our weaknesses, building on the former, and trying to reduce the latter. |
Sorry but again enjoy the ride to the bottom. America’s a lost cause from the beginning - built on lies destruction and slavery. The reactionary half (possibly more if you count the middle) isn’t going to allow the needed change. I admire your optimism but you’re going to be sorely disappointed. |
My son was just offered $60k plus a 15% bonus plus $3k relocation a month before his college graduation. He turned it down because he didn’t like the location. I have a feeling he’ll pay increased housing, food and gas prices just fine. This boomer was responsible enough that he has no loans to pay. He didn’t go to a private university and ring up debt. Losers blame others for their own short comings. |
Different PP, but the flaw in the logic here is the minority party that has engineered/is engineering its continued hold on power over the majority has no interest in doing this. |
NP- I feel hopeless too. Some things just seem to NOT be working, like each state getting two senators and fillibusters, and electoral college. But if money drives politics and not ideals, how do we even begin to change these things? I have the same tendency to just want to "get mine" like everyone else seems to be doing, and get the hell out. And yes, I do think that this will ripple and be disasterous no matter what. China and Russia want to separate us, and its working. |
Who says something like this? Some young people are pure evil. I love my parents. I have nothing but respect for all of the elderly in this country. And, for the record, I already earn more than 3 times what my parents made combined at their peak, and I haven't even reached middle age yet. My Dad worked 10 times as hard as me for 1/10th of the pay. Not to mention he is a military veteran. So much for Boomers having it easier. |
The American Dream has always been a real estate marketing pitch, defining life success by the value of property owned. I have a better standard of living than my parents or grandparents had but I own less property than they did. |
Yes. You sir, or ma'am, are a great American. |
