That’s not how I remember it playing out. JLo and Ben split (due to paparazzi, addiction/gambling or whatever) and Jen G was the rebound. She was clearly gaga over Ben (as seen in the Dinner for Five episode with Jon Favreau). She became pregnant and he did the “honorable” thing and married her.

DP. JLo is known to be a very nasty person who has had disagreements with tons of peers (Rosie Perez, Mariah Carey, etc), trashed a ton of actresses when she was still a newcomer, basically had the career that Ashanti should have had WITH Ashanti’s voice no less (her reference track mysteriously was mixed into one of JLo’s biggest hits with Ja Rule), and if you have ever read deux moi or any other accounts where the nobodies of the world talk about their interactions with her she is incredibly rude to regular people.

Jennifer Garner definitely has her flaws (seems like she starts trading up to the next guy before ending things with the first one) and she does definitely use her kids for pap strolls. But she at least seems nice...so yea a trade up.

Dad was a chemical engineer. Mom was a SAHM then returned to teaching college English. She’s a college grad who is still an A list bankable lead actress. She doesn’t date boy toys.

JLO always seemed way too high maintenance and luxury/image for ben. He seemed to totally change his lifestyle and appearance for her. I think Jennifer garner was a much easier person to imagine settling down with. I don’t remember why he and Jlo called off their engagement, but she seems to end of lot the relationships on her terms and sort of imagine she took the lead here as well, fed up with him for whatever reason. I honestly think they are two people who can’t function in relationships, for different reasons.

They were supposed to get married before 400 guests, but he called it off just days before to postpone it since the media frenzy was too much.

He probably got cold feet. Maybe he didn’t want a media circus life.

She eventually dumped him and went on to sustain the media frenzy approach to life. He eloped with Garner and led a quiet, normal life for a decade. Garner still leads a quiet life.

He’s an addict. He led as low key of a life as someone with his Hollywood lifestyle and underlying addictions was going to have. He has stated that his divorce is his biggest regret in life. He was out of control. It’s sad.

+1. I'd gladly rip up my diplomas if we could trade bank accounts

JLo deserves some respect here. She made it in an incredibly competitive and challenging industry. By all accounts, she's an extremely disciplined workaholic, which is why she's still relevant at an age when most women are discarded by Hollywood and fans. I will say that her commitment to work and her image does bring challenges with relationships. But as far as accomplishments? You can't admonish her for that.
