Where'd you get $90k and four months off? Don't make up numbers to suit your narrative. |
Are you stating that no ACPS teachers make 90k? Are you denying that July, August, Christmas Break, Easter break, every fed holiday possible, and all teacher work days add up to 4 months? Do you need help counting? Take your time. We'll wait. |
Parent here. No, you're exaggerating and it makes you sound ridiculous. Point 1: The number of teachers making $90k or over is immaterial (that's less than 5% for the uniformed). Point 2: You can't count Federal Holidays if the general public also is receiving them. Point 3: If you think that teachers are well-paid (given that most of ACPS teachers have at least one Master's Degree) compared to their peers then you're delusional. Starting pay is in the high $40ks. That's low. You can make your point without making such foolish statements as you are. I can think of 5-10 things that you can say that would be valid and not extreme. I'm not going to help someone like you who is so intellectually lazy. I am sure you have a brain, PP; use it. |
Not only do I agree with everything this says, but don't forget that Teacher Work Days, are by definition and title, days that teachers work. You'd think if being a teacher was ~~so cushy~~, there wouldn't be such a large teacher shortage. |
If teaching is such a cushy job, why have I suddenly been seeing tons of ads about how Virginia will pay for me to become a teacher? Before this past year, I might have considered it. |
For the record, the same failing certain groups is levied against other districts. ACPS is just worse for everyone. White, black, brown, whatever. |
First of all, most teachers went to school and have at least a Masters degree, and 90k is on the high average for most teachers. Second.. its closer to 2.5 months UNPAID. Fixed it for you. |
