So if a tooth falls onto the ground or floor, you don’t rinse it but stick it back directly in mouth. Or do you put it in milk? |
Yes he did need a root canal but it was very easy for him (he is pretty zen though) but he had minimal pain, if any. |
Good question- I would google or ask ChatGPT (or a dentist lol). I wasn't outside with him when it happened. I think you stick I back in the mouth after putting it in milk? Sounds absolutely gross- but I do think it said not to rinse. Now I am going to go look. I do know he had a root canal and antibiotics! |
You put back in the mouth (don't touch root) If dirty, gently rinse with milk or saline, not water, and don't scrub it.
Try to re-insert into socket right away and bite down or hold in place with gauze. If you can't re-insert, store tooth in milk or saliva inside cheek if person is concious and won't swallow it. (Chat GPT) |
Rinse off gently and put in the socket. Can visit a dentist after that. Might want an antibiotic prescription. |
I am one of the many pps who knocked a front tooth out as a child. Root canals can be very unpleasant but they shouldn’t be painful. And in some ways a front tooth is better (for root canal purposes bc it’s easier to access.) not to minimize your concerns!it does really suck but it it’s more the ongoing issues and expense with the knocked out tooth over years rather than the initial root canal. Also, it will look completely fine so don’t worry about that. |
I am concerned about the long term effects of losing that tooth but oh well I guess there is nothing I can do to change it. It still sucks to watch my child go through. |
How bad are root canals these days? I’ve heard some horror stories but I believe that the process has gotten easier. |
Im afraid of dentists and this happened to my child! How do I get through it without transferring it to my kid? They are being so brave but I am freaking out!!! |
This happened to me the week before senior prom. Had a veneer from ~18-30, finally needed a root canal and a crown at 30. All good 5 years later.
The dentists and the lab did an awesome job with the color match and size. I also think the crown has done a nice job with holding my teeth in place (thanks mom & dad for the ortho work) and I am insanely on top of my every 6 month cleaning routine and cleaning/flossing, so I guess that is a positive! |
