Dcps and dcpcs vaccine plans for staff

Now they have added in a policy that anyone can have a vaccine dose that is going to be dumped anyway, so hopefully that glitch is ironed out. What an immense failure of government to set a priority population and have that mean that vaccine doses are dumped. A teacher that wanted to come back could have had those does and a dozen at risk children who otherwise would have had no chance at an education this year could have gotten one. Personally I think teachers who want the vaccine should be added to the roster immediately.

Can you say more about this? I am a teacher who would gladly take the vaccine ASAP.

Curious if anyone has actually heard anything about DC’s plans to vaccinate teachers?

This teacher would also like to know what the actual plan is for getting the vaccine. From PP it sounds like anyone can sign up and be on some waitlist for doses that don't get administered and would then go to waste being used on willing adults.

I don’t think it’s a list of anything. Pharmacies are just going around and asking customers who happen to be in the store if they’d like a vaccine that’s about to go to waste. The problem with a list is this is time sensitive. The vaccine might go bad in an hour, they don’t have time to call everyone on the list and wait for them. Plus they don’t have the manpower to do that.

There is currently no way to sign up for the vaccine in DC if you are not in group 1A. Here is the dc web portal for vaccinations. https://vaccinate.dc.gov/

As you can see, it says that only healthcare professionals are being offered vaccines at this time.

Please trust only official sources for vaccine information. This thread contains some highly questionable information.
