Student loans aren't the only type out there.

Just think of how much money people could pump back into the economy without having to pay their mortgage or Car loan payments! Gimme some of that debt relief!

Seriously, this thread shows how out of touch most are. The people who need the most help have never stepped foot on a University campus. Wake up!

Your trolling is so Zzzzzzzz. Poor and blue collar middle class kids go to the local community college and 4-year commuter university and still rack up debt. Most of them don't graduate. They still have loans to service.

You think the neediest people in our society are kids who went to a 4-year commuter university and only finish a couple of years? Get out of your freakin bubble.

I've worked in higher education for 25 years. Community colleges and regional commuter universities serve the local poor and middle class and have atrocious completion rates. I'm seen community colleges with graduation rates as low as 10%, regional public commuter universities with graduation rates as low as 15 to 20%.

such BS

another middle finger from democrats to those of us that have saved year after year for our kids and had them go to state schools.

Millennial here. Paid off six figures of student loan debt, early, by selling my soul and sacrificing every little luxury. I completely support student loan forgiveness. I remember how awful it was for me to have that debt hanging over my head. I am watching it ruin the lives of my family and friends. Families that were never started, cars and houses that were never purchased, small businesses that were never started, medical conditions that were never treated. I don’t give a flying f*ck about the moral hazard. Forgive the loans. Free the people. Kickstart the economy.

Avg public U undergrad student debt is actually now over $32,000 -- up $10,000 in just 10 years.

Yeah I was just thinking this... Just waiting for the banks to step in an crush this. They won't be giving up those interest payments that easily.

“Banks” are not in the student loan business!!!

The vast majority - something like 95% - are owed directly to the Department of Education. There are no banks involved.

Younger borrowers entered a horrible job market. I don’t understand why other posters get so worked up about debt forgiveness. Other should suffer because you did? It’s like you believe we should not have new drugs available for diseases because others who died didn’t have access to them.

Boo hoo. Older millennials graduated into an even worse job market during 2008. No one bailed us out or gave us stimulus checks. Many of my friends had their credits completely ruined after they lost their jobs and had to choose between paying student loans, rent, or for food. I paid my loans, so can Gen Z I would have vastly more wealth and would have owned a home many years earlier if I got a free handout. Give me my money back. Apparently only dumb people pay their loans that they signed a contract for. Gee, who knew.thr biggest financial mistake you'd ever make is to payoff debt responsibly.

You’re the whiner. Suck it up! Life isn’t fair.

Youre going to blame Dems if Trump signs the EO and cancels the debt?

Weird. It’s like you think Trump is an empty vessel to be manipulated.
