| I only have one sister-in-law. I don't think we would naturally drift toward each other to become friends if we were placed in a random group of 100 people. We are not very similar. But, if we were randomly thrown together as housemates or next-door neighbors or co-workers in a small group, I think we would become good friends over time. She is a really great person and I admire a lot of things about her. Also, I enjoy schmoozing with her about the things we do have in common. |
| Yes. With one. DH has 4 siblings. One is an alcoholic and was addicted to synthetic marijuana. He has no job and lives off parents. Other brother just turned 18, so he was a child to me up until a few months ago. Younger sister is very friendly and we get along great, but she’s a pot head and gets high a lot. Older sister is smart and has been life together and is just someone I’d be friends with. |
| I can't stand my husband's sister. She is a self centered jerk. Her husband is a narcissist and their spawn are in tolerable. |

My SIL, maybe. She is the oldest and about 8 years older than me. She comes off as pushy and controlling but i think that is just her 'station' in the family. If i knew her at work as a peer i think she would be fun.
My BIL. No. Hard pass. |
