Should a husband and wife have the same doctor?

We have the same doctor. Actually several family members have the same doctor as us. I don't see how it's problematic.

There’s absolutely no weirdness w DH and I having the same doc. I guess if we were cheaters and kept our health condition secret then I’d probably feel differently.

I was just coming to post the same thing!

Does anyone agree or disagree, and why?

If you're a PCP, does it present issues/make you uncomfortable to treat spouses?

What are you hiding? Affair STD’s?

We do because I find good doctors and my husband wants to switch to them. We have different last names so I'm not sure all of them know we're married. In one case, we go to the same practice, but see different docs.

PP adding that we had an emergency a few years ago and it actually helped that we had the same doctors because they know both of us and managing care and getting appts was easier.

We don't, but only because we each have stayed with the doctor we had before marriage, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

No. Doctors can't discuss other patients with you. Should not be a concern. But honestly, what secrets are you keeping from your wife - are you dying secretly? exposing her to STDs??? get yourself together. Keeping secrets is unhealthy and exhausting.
