Email or send a Facebook message to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, or at least to your representative on the Board, and ask that Loudoun Soccer lose its designation as an 'Affiliated League'. Affiliated Leagues need to be in financial Good Standing with the County, schools, partners, etc. in order to have priority for use of public field space. Let Loudoun Soccer use their private field space for their teams and open up the public field space for organizations that aren't screwing families out of money. Here is the county's field allocation policy and description of what Affiliated Leagues are and qualifications.

| Curious. How much money did ODFC and FCV give back this spring? Also, did FCV already ask for fall money? |
I have a child in both FCV and Loudoun. Everyone's aware of Loudoun's refund policy. I think they did the best they could given the circumstances. It's a large club and I think their level of communication has been a lot better than given credit for. Those folks who are complaining about communication have never run an organization in their lives except for a kid's lemonade stand. You can quibble about the refunds but mostly this will hinge on your own personal situation, financially. As for FCV, little to no info on this front but that seems to be the case with a lot of the smaller clubs. I'm not expecting anything. I'm fine with both situations. Is it ideal? No. But everyone is trying to get by in these times and figure out if their business and/or non-profit will even exist going ahead. |
Funny how the banks aren't being asked to waive those credit card fees. |
Thanks. Most sane and reasonable post I’ve read on this thread. |
Plenty of people have run large organizations and understand that when you make a charge but are unable to deliver the service, it is incumbent upon you to refund the client. You can certainly ask for a donation, but that is the client's prerogative, not yours as the business owner. What they are doing here is unethical, pure and simple. |
Within about 3 minutes of getting the email stating they were only doing credits. Most credit cards return the money to the account within 1 business day while they investigate the dispute. |
| People who daily spend $5 on latte is here complaining about $150.00. So being so damn petty. Lot of businesses sre dire situations. Get a grip. |
Do you work for LS? Why do you care that people don’t want to make a mandatory donation because they paid for a service that was never received? |
I don't know if im buying the fact you're a Loudoun parent. The riches county in the country My guess.. you're a FCV staff heck even Bobby or Gus hoping Loudoun goes under so FCV can make a quick dash to ECNL. |
You can pretend that anonymous comments come from wherever you want to, but Loudoun Soccer is getting killed in the local community groups. There are hundreds of negative comments in Facebook groups, including numerous people who are disputing the charges with their CC companies. The reality is a lot of people are not only angry at the way this has been handled, but in the way the club treats them in general. They don’t have the same issues, or not nearly to the same degree, with the local basketball leagues, little league, etc. |
Exactly. I can purchase 30 lattes with my $150. The petty person here is Loudoun Soccer. They are a big for profit company disguised as a non profit organization. Not only that, their ego is so big with their too big to fail campaign by refusing refunds. Families look after themselves first. Loudoun will survive. Their bank account is big enough and could take the hit. The squeaky clean image is over. Just make it right - it’s not worth the bad rep ! |

I'm curious to see the reaction when Loudoun Soccer announces how they're going to be handling travel soccer refunds (or lack thereof). If rec parents are this upset about $164 that they paid (and I'm not discounting their reasoning for being upset), imagine how travel parents who paid $1,500 - $3500+ are going to feel when LS says, "Sorry about the Spring travel season. Here's your $100 credit for next season (or whenever we play soccer again)". |
If you do not want to pay, you do not have to |
