And the consequences, no matter how kind, all loving and pure the god may be, is always cruel and extreme.

Could you please take your atheist proselytizing elsewhere—that’s not the topic of this thread.

Oh yeah, I forgot. This thread is just for the religious proselytizing folks! But actually, the topic was about one believing their religion is the one and true religion. I was pointing out that this is in each religion’s own design, in order to keep people from deviating or questioning their faith. So I am very well within topic. Not that I need you to police what I say.

Get a life. And lose the hate—it’s clearly poisoning you.

Actually, some religions are not hateful. Depends on how they read the Bible.

And athiests don't proselytize - it just seems likes like it, because religious belief is the status quo.

I have a life and have no hate. Disagreeing with your point of view does not mean I hate you. I hate nothing about you. I just don’t believe in the things you do.

This is a reasonable position and one that people sometimes have trouble understanding when it comes to religion. Unforatunately, some religions teach people to hate those who don't believe in god, so they assume people who don't believe in god also hate them. The idea of not believing is also very threatening, so they try to intimidate people who don't believe.

Np. I’m no atheist but believe in kindness and pretty much that’s it. My 4yo hasn’t had any exposure to god yet other than living in a Christian culture. She recently stubbed her toe shortly after having a very bad meltdown and out of the blue stated it was god punishing her. I found it fascinating, that she came up with that. . But—also—that I felt an immediate urge to use such a simple-minded idea to my benefit like some religious despot, “yes, larla, god doesn’t like it when you meltdown over not getting ice cream and he will stub your toe if you do it again. And also god wants you to clean your room...” should go without saying, I didn’t. Just found it fascinating how easy it would have been to control the masses so to speak.

Sounds like you're an atheist who thinks athiests are bad people, therefore you must not be one.
