Being mean to someone who spends all their one coaching kids? Aren’t you a cute bully.

Our club coach is an amazing person and mentor and I'm glad DC has the chance to work with and learn from them.

You either have a really young kid or have your head in the sand.

One thing I have learned is that if you base any decisions on clubs or events based on random anonymous postings, you are over thinking things.

Club lax is a scam. Play wherever until high school. Save your $. Then play for IAC or wcac.

Yeah that makes sense so instead of wasting 2K on club you can spend 40K on tuition at an IAC or WCAC

Your kid ain't gonna be good enough to play for IAC or WCAC unless he plays club before high school.

Agreed Club Lax is a waste younger years. My DS played from 8th grade through 11th then quit. Walked on in college division 1 scholarship. It's a waste because of the cost and lax really doesn't provide that many scholarships that are better than an academic one. it's not a career. Let them play if they want and you can afford it. Would I do it again nope. Same with soccer clubs huge waste of money, unless your kid really truly enjoys.

Why do people on DCUM keep peddling this inane bullshit?

"Why do people on DCUM keep peddling this inane bullshit?"

Why do you think you are a hall monitor? First of all totally true. Six kids. All college graduates with master degrees and great jobs. Engineering, CIS, Supply Chain, ...Lucky me my kids got the difference early on athletics not the be end all ,only for fun. One went to North Carolina State because they have a way to encourage students to take PE every semester. 8 at state, Get a special T-shirt ..Loved Engineering there!

No one was going to the NFL or NBA. Lax club great for some, but not the only way to go. Clubs are tied to many high school teams by financial resources which is just not ok. Also, Club play while may increase skills for some also include injuries. Like I said I didn't think the clubs were worth it for the cost. Save for college play if you want for fun. Even do tournaments or club play, but for most the cost vs scholarships do not add up.

No doubt the dumbest thing I'll read today. Unless this is sarcasm. In that case, it's brilliant.

Methinks this guy is not telling the truth. If the six kids are all out of college and grad school with great jobs and former D1 walk on's would not be bothering to post here.

LOL you almost had me but then you had to over-egg the pudding with your "six kids" bullshit.

The input of an obvious liar is useless.

for those in areas where community programs are weak, club can be needed early.

My daughter almost quit lacrosse because she was on a community team where noone else could consistently catch or cradle and lost nealry every game 15-2 in 3rd and 4th grade. Then moved to a 2nd tier club and she fell in love with the sports. At the earlier ages, I actually believe the instruction 4th-7th is generally better at the mid-tier clubs over M&D, Hero, MD Units, etc. Much more teaching and less focused on winning tourneys.

Then if good enough, try out for the big clubs in 8th grade where everyone gets more competitive.
