I thought the children at the "top" private schools were...

I think the private school forum should be visited by everyone. Private school parents would be utterly bored if they were only talking with eachother.

As a parent of a child at one of the Big 3, I can assure you: We need people to feel better than. Public school parents provide a critical receptical for our daily need to boast. What fun is it to talk about how great our school is when we are talking about the same schools?

I agree we need people to feel superior too. Yes, I went to private...so did husband...so did kid. I don't like publics.

How would you have any true sense of public school if no one in your family has ever been? I went to both public and then private -- I can see the benefits of both.

I am not the PP quoted, but it seems to me the lowest form of comeback on DCUM is pointing out the spelling error.

I love it when the private-school ivy-leaguers cannot spell or construct sentences.

Okay, listen, as a private school mom who wants to preserve whatever sliver of dignity we have left, can I ask all of you private school parents to please check your spelling and grammar before you push that submit button? You are digging us a grave here.

Ah, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are not dead!
Thank goodness, or who would dig the graves?

Oh wait, that's a job for: Public School Parents!

Someday, I actually hope to BE a public school parent. With no tuition payments, I can gild my spade, and then: Look out!

another "lower" comeback here -

I've never heard of referring to any public school system as publics. In this case, it's an adjective - the public library system, for example.
