I'm a vet and JUST cleared $100K this year - I'm 48 years old. (I could make more with my own practice, but I'm not interested in that).

It's my calling, and I've known I wanted to be a vet since I was a girl. But yeah, not the career if you want to make money.

Vet school is also INSANELY competitive to get into. I have a niece who is an aspiring vet, just went thru the application process, and so a lot of our family conversations have been on that topic this year. Supposedly it's harder to get into than medical school.

For example, at Oregon State University which is the dead last vet school on USNWR...970 applied for 96 positions.
