I knew that would be the response. Not the case...but you may find a few who aren't supporters of politics of Israel (not=antisemitism). Sorry for this tangent. |
Mandarin is spoken by oh, a billion people? And the rising superpower that will rule the next century? Somebody should be learning it. |
Yes, there are a billion people in China. #1 kids going to YY aren't fluent in Mandarin. #2 like I said 97% of your kids (even if they do become fluent) will use Mandarin in their careers. That is a fact. |
*will not use. |
Why does anyone come to this site if not for some need for external validation? You're just missing the point. |
Who, in the US, doesn't like jews besides the crazies. That can't be the reason. Now lots of people don't like Isreal, but it isn't like SELA is connected to Isreal. I think it is because it is a small school offering a rare langauge. But the joke's on DCUM, cause SELA is doing great! |
LOL see I come here because a few people are pretty sharp, actually. And funny. But also for the validation, of course. |
Unless you have "exposure" to it like the crunchy parents at Creative Minds. |
Still waiting on CMI to come worry about being Tier 2 |
We visited but ended up going with a (now much lower scored!) school because the space was so depressing. We liked the staff and were okay with the idea of Hebrew but there was no outdoor play space and that really worried us for preK kids that need to move. Perhaps not the best reason to turn down a good school but it was a strong feeling we had. |
So happy about LAMB! We love the school, and it is great validation to see this report. I highly recommend doing the LAMB lottery. It's a long shot to get in, but it's worth it to try! |
Hmm...that's strange. My kid has attended for the past 2 years and there definitely is outdoor play space. |
Really?! When we visited they showed us a small area with mulch but it was more like the size of a couple parking pads. Maybe they've added space or use a nearby field? |
What? |
I'm Jewish, and turned down a spot at Sela for my kid a couple of years ago because I don't think fluency in conversational Hebrew is all that useful. We're still sending our children to Hebrew school on the weekends. I assure you, it's not anti-Semitism that motivated my skepticism about the school's mission. |
