| Enjoyed the History on Stonehaven. I was there in the small house ,1976, never afraid but the place was isolated for myself and 3 young girls. Knew some history. Spent many times talking with Ms. Edwards |

Huh? This is a huge lot for development but on a busy road and hilly terrain. All fenced in today. |
| My parents used to own this place back in the 70s. They sold it in the 80s. I remember going there as a kid. My parents always rented it to tenants. Cool property. |

Im going to play the ouija board there tonight... wish me luck

Mysterious Witch of “Stonehaven”
It’s a dark chilling night no full moon in sight stone pillars with tall wrought iron columns figures of wicked winged dragon emblems guard the entrance in a dominant stance eerie darkness lay at the foot of the driveway the wind howls ghastly sounds a strange spookiness abounds the air smells of decaying wood senses are heightened, it feels no good narrow strips of crushed blue/grey stones crackle under your feet a dreadfully dark climb with no lights from the street around the first bend a sharp curve continues to ascend up the steep embankment, a rustling of leaves is heard it was so dark my eyes were blurred I heard a whispering voice cry if you don’t leave you will die a ghostly shadowy figure appears the same one I have seen for years frightened and scared I stood there and stared nowhere to run my legs felt like a ton Mrs. Edwards claimed it was her husband he moved about the house and land “if you see him, you won’t hear him” “if you hear him, you won’t see him” We finally moved from Glen Echo but for years his vivid impressions still show a dark shadow figure appears is it he, who is near for him, I do not fear it is she, the message is clear don’t tread on her turf she cast a supernatural curse The dame, that proclaimed to be a witch lived the glorious life of the rich bragging about her furs and fancy dresses walking the hill with long dark tresses “If you see her you won’t hear her” “if you hear her you won’t see her” guarding her ancient castle on the hill her spirit lives there still Mr. and Mrs. Edwards will forever endure their historic house he built with grandeur one hundred and thirty feet above MacArthur Park a magnificent blue stone Glen Echo landmark – Called “Stonehaven” Written by Cindy Pursell 2024 My family lived on the property as caretakers for Mrs Edwards when I was a child in the 70's and 80's. |

| I used to live at Stonehaven in 1976. The house and property were fine then. |
That's really interesting. You must have loved it very much! |
