Agreed. The question was for the first PP. |

You don't need to buy a place, renting also works. I grew up in a town with a great school
District. One guy in next town rented a cheap apt over Pizza joint to be official residence. Kinda funny Drive kids over in morning make some coffee walk them Downstairs to bus and repeat at 3pm. We call them boarder jumpers |

So you buy the condo and then what? Are you going to live in it or rent it out? Make sure you have all the paperwork to show them with the new address on it, and you have to do that several years. You might be able to move back to your house after few years and sill continue at the school.
We never had playdates in our condo, ex-DH drives the kid from Eotp, nobody has ever asked where we lived exactly. After several years I moved IB to another school and was able to keep DS in the old school. OP, why not rent our your house and move into the condo. You should be able to move back at one point. You have options, so it's hard to feel bad for you. My only option was ca $160k condo which happened to be in Wotp. I barely even qualified for that mortgage. Now I have people asking me to rent it out to them. |
If it's not DC it might have different rules. |
