NP. Agree. I see the TJ people doing it more often, but maybe the Blair people are just as bad and I haven't noticed. Either way, it's a really ugly sign of insecurity and small-minded competitiveness. You'd do your schools (and yourselves) a service by dropping those attitudes.

As pointed out by PP, Blair poster bashes TJ for no reason and forces TJ people to defend. There is no reason to bash TJ just to boost Blair.

I'm the NP above. Regardless of who starts any given cycle of bashing, surely you are mature enough not to respond to every provocation by hitting back, right?

Also c'mon, are you really playing the he-started-it card? I can't believe I have to remind adults of the same lessons I teach my elementary age children.

Blair booster appears to pretend to be posting for TJ and posts messages that seems to attack Blair to make TJ look bad.

TJ parents have this unending need to start these blast fests.

As an earlier poster pointed out, the article is six months old and it's not like this is a particularly significant achievement.

Do TJ parents need constant ego stroking?

If I were to move for a public school, I would opt to size down and buy into the Whitman or BCC school districts in Maryland. Geographically you would be in a location that is fairly central should you opt for private and if not, I know those school districts have a large percentage of highly educated and active parent groups. I'm not familiar with other systems so that comment is not at all meant to be a comparison.

^^ fine schools but hardly noteworthy for STEM education.

FFS - your kid is 5. Look for a good all around school and forget the STEM aspect. STEM is the buzz-acronym of this generation and truly means nothing. As a PHD engineer, very little of what is promoted in STEM programs relate to what is practiced in the real world. Your child will succeed in STEM related fields If she can communicate well, is well rounded and doesn't refer to it as STEM.
