I agree. I found MCPS at the ES level to be frustrating. I hate the grading system. On the other hand our experience at the MS and HS levels has been outstanding. I think this may be a feature of schools in many places - the teachers with strong subject knowledge teach at higher grade levels. All of this talk about MA, NY, and CT is pointless. Those school districts are very small, and the taxes there are far higher than taxes in Montgomery County. Raising taxes here to be commensurate with taxes there would not be a popular option. |
+1 If you took the entire mcps student body and put them in some district in MA, the outcome wouldn't be all that different. |
