Mixed breed with an unfortunate set of teeth, perhaps some gas every now and again, and a heart filled with love. Priceless*

Ok,maybe about $250 to the shelter, but it's very often waived several times a year.

We sell our German Shepherd pups for $1800. We always have a waiting list and never breed without at least five people on the list. We also require a home visit. We will take back any of our dogs at any age if the owners can no longer care for them. In our contract the owner agrees not to surrender the dog to any shelter or rescue. Health is guaranteed. First vaccines and worming is done before they leave. We cover the first vet visit after pick up. No puppy leaves our care until 8 weeks. In other words, we are reputable breeders who are passionate about our dogs. We are more expensive because our puppies are worth it.

That is awesome! Thanks for being responsible dog breeders. My brother has a German Sheperd and she's a great dog. We got our dachshund from a good responsible breeder too. (Different dachshund owner than the pp a couple posts above). Our dachshund is the perfect example of why to get a dog from someone who understands the breed and breeds for quality dogs. Unfortunately I don't think she's breeding anymore. I hope to find another good dachshund breeder in the future. There will come a day when I'll want to add a new puppy, but not until the one I have is no longer with us, hopefully that won't be for 15+ more years.

searching for golden now.
Breeders in the area charge anywhere from $1900 to $3000 for puppy.
Golden rescue - $750 for puppy/young dog.

We paid $650.00 for a mini golden doodle from a breeder. He is now two years old in good health and really nice temperament. I look at some of the prices online from breeders with elaborate websites and find it insane. You can find reputable breeders who don't charge as much. You need to do your research and ask good questions. Also, check out the facility and how they handle the dogs.

Havanese - $1500, he's 9 now and he is worth every penny

One more reason for us to go to the breeder was the opportunity to look at the parents' health and temperament. We got a french bulldog and I know some of them can be very agressive. Knowing both parents of the puppy ensured that our dog will grow up fine. Indeed, he is almost like a house cat now, very sweet and quiet.

I am the pp GDS breeder. To put it bluntly, your dog is less expensive because he is a mutt. A designer mutt. But still, a mix. There is nothing wrong with mixed breeds. They often make better pets than pure bred pups. But they are cheaper because they are easier to breed. Your breeder isn't breeding for any standard. Just two healthy (hopefully) dogs having sex.

I saw a grey / blue bulldog for about $8000 online. I didn't think for a second that it was coming from a reputable breeder, because the price was so insane.

West German. We have fostered several rescue GSDs that were American (maybe?) and were fantastic dogs! They are usually larger and in my experience goofier, but that's not a bad thing. They make great companion pets! We breed for health and temperament. We sell to families who want good family pets, not necessarily working dogs. And we have no puppies right now and no planned litters. We just moved and are in the process of buying another home.
