Because there is no such thing as truly certified for emotional support. An emotional support dog is not required to perform any specific tasks for a disability like service dogs are. So which is it? Maybe just take a Valium instead. SMH.

There's no certification for service animals, for that matter, which someone with an actual trained service animal would know. Once again, someone with an ESA trying to pass them off as a service animal which hurts people with actual service animals that actually need them to go about their daily lives.

I actually know people who got the scammy emotional support letters for dogs. In each case for airlines to avoid the FEE for their little dogs. I know of aprtment buildings with breed restrrictions where the pitbull owners got the emotional support letters. If OP has a small dog my guess is OP is trying to AVOID the FEE.

Oh wow thanks!! I'm tired of paying $100 each way to fly to Canada with my dog. I'm getting a BS emotional support vest and certificate just like op. This is going to save me literally thousands!! I fly to Canada twice a month. F U op btw.

1. My dog is certified and went through extensive training not some paper mill

Can you read!? I've had her for 5+ year . Travel is not a normal thing and if it is we drive with her. Its too far to drive.

Are you crossing an ocean? If you are going for 7 weeks, it's not too far to drive.

Sorry, I'm 100% supportive of working dogs for disabled people. I am close to 0% supportive of emotional support animals in public spaces.

you're a huge fucking idiot - it has been proven that exposure to dogs can help aide in recovery time. when i was in the hospital, after i was involved in a head on collision with a drunk driver, there was a service where the hospital brought dogs in to visit patients for this very reason.

Just do it - the airlines are not legally permitted to ask you any questions - just check in at the ticket counter and go - it's super easy to fly w an emotional support pet

It's not bullying to insist on equal rights for people with ACTUAL problems like allergies vs made up problems like needing your dog on your lap to fly. If you truly can't fly- well- you can't fly. You can drive! Lucky you for having options unlike some people who actually have real problems and need real service animals to help them- they don't have those options.

This is the entire misperception with Emotional Support Animals. No one is permitted to ask you why you have a SERVICE Dog, and they cannot refuse you entrance becaus of a SERVICE Dog. That would be illegal under the Americans with Disabilities Act. This is NOT the case with an ES dog. An airline can refuse to allow your pet in the cabin. There is a huge distinction that most people don't know about.
