I am loving the support Shepherd is receiving

Ours doesn't hold it at the school -- not enough room. But definitely not at a hotel either! Yikes, waste of $$$. But in reading this it is clear this isn't actually about raising money for the school which is odd.

The goal is absolutely to raise money for the school. Shepherd threads on DCUM get a little weird, so it is understandable that that is not clear.

The spring auction had gotten really stale over the years wasn't anywhere close to meeting its goals (This is not a school where dropping $650 per kid into the PTA is considered normal). This year's committee decided take a chance and specifically engage the outside community (alumni, neighbors, social service organizations, etc.) in the hopes of bringing more people in to support the school with $$$. So far, so good as, even at double or triple the ticket price they have sold more tickets than they have in a long time. Hopefully folks come, have a great time and bid, bid, bid!
