Moving HS student to DC area. Need school advice.

How about OConnell, PVI, or Good Counsel? Most of the Catholics around here are single sex, unless they are diocesan (with the exception of St Johns).

Isn't that going to be a long commute to Tenley?

Dematha would take around 30 minutes.

Also gonna require some extensive cosmetic work and hormone treatments for a girl.

Apply to Sidwell, GDS, NCS, Maret. Live in NW DC or just over the border in Chevy Chase or Bethesda in Whitman or BCC district. Live within walking distance of the redline metro and your husband can metro to work.

Lol, was just going to comment on the fact that it's DeMatha is all boys, plus I live in MoCo and it takes a good 30 min with no traffic to get there. Elizabeth Seton is at least an hour from lower MoCo.

You should use the teachers and administrators at your daughter's current school to help advice you. Some may have contacts in the area and may be able to help you identify schools of similar rigor.

I'd suggest looking for housing in and around Bethesda, Md. That gives you a couple of good publics (Wilson and BCC) and several nearby privates, including Holton (all-girls, secular), St. Andrews (Episcopal, co-ed), Stone Ridge (all-girls, Catholic) and Bullis (co-ed, secular) in Maryland, as well as being not far from Tenleytown and the DC privates near there: Sidwell, NCS, GDS. Good luck, OP.

Wilson is in Tenleytown and it's a DCPS so living in MD wouldn't give you access to it.
