Wow, you all are mean. Agree her show is terrible and she doesn’t belong on TV. While I haven’t read it in forever, her blog was relatable and funny. She is a clever and witty writer and obv a smart business woman, and took all her own pictures for her cookbook. That is impressive to me. Not everyone does TV well and that’s ok. She should stick to writing

| Maybe it's because she isn't a pioneer |
Bobby Flay’s relentless sleaziness is the only thing I like about him. At least it is authentic. |
All of you people saying that she doesn't belong on TV... if so many people watch her show that she has spawned a magazine, clothing line, houseware line, frozen foods, multiple cookbooks and driven tourism to her small town, apparently she DOES belong on TV. |
|
Her food is just so gross. Basic and unhealthy and literally everyone has those recipes at home. I agree with OP - cooking shows should teach something new in prep or presentation. Not how to make a freaking sheet cake.

| She gained super power by being one of the original bloggers. Now every single person has a site like hers. |
SHE is urban. Her HUSBAND and his family and HIS money are not. |
She's not even urban, which you can tell by the fact that she talks about how she grew up next to a golf course as proof that she's a "city girl" If you need to find a recipe you remember from your Nana's charity cookbook collection, she's a likely source. |
Yeah, right. It had nothing to do with her husband's family being filthy rich and well-connected. |
| There’s something to be said for basic recipes that kids will eat. |
Google Maps her famous Pioneer Woman Mercantile store in Pawhuska, OK. Looking at photos of the bakery case, the food appears to be just be Sysco slop, and the merch appears to be cheap Chinese knick-knacks. She's a grifter. |
| I've never watched her or read her blog. I think those melamine bowls are kind of cute (although I don't own any) and I love church cookbooks. I think I'm pretty mainstream, so I'm not surprised she is popular. |
There, do you feel better now?
|
I want her to adopt me. |
You think she wrote her blog herself? Aw, honey. |
