Also in 2010, Wint was arrested outside the American Iron Works headquarters while carrying a 2-foot-long machete and a BB pistol, but weapons charges were dropped after he pleaded guilty to possessing an open container of alcohol in a retail area, court records show.

Attorney Robin Ficker, who defended Wint in other cases, said he didn't seem violent or capable of murder.

He wAs in a Howard Johnson in College Park, MD on Rte 1 and followed to 1000 block of Rhode Island Ave and arrested there.

It is a real cost, yes. The number is about twice the national average, but not unreasonable under the circumstances. You've got to add international transport of remains to the average. Also, when a relatively young person dies unexpectedly and traumaticly, one can expect a very large turn out in support of the deceased's family. There are logistical costs to this over and above average. Hope this is helpful.

Does anyone know if the Savopoulos family is contributing to the cost?
