Tons of gay families in close-in McLean. We know tons.

And even more closeted republicans if your DH needs to get his early morning casual encounters on!

In close-in Bethesda, we know several families at our school where the parents are a gay couple, and it's completely accepted as no big deal whatsoever.

There are indeed a variety of people who live here who span the socioeconomic spectrum, so you can have some beautiful Victorian houses on the same block with tiny bungalows and a random rambler. I kind of like that kind of architectural diversity. I also have kids and plan on sending them to the public schools. I'm not LBGT but this probably is the most liberal, accepting area in the DMV (and probably one of the most liberal and progressive places in the country).

No, it's all the other stuff about 3rd world country and "diversity" that makes OP sound like a jerk.

When you move out of your Bethesda McMansion and W school zone, into Langley Park-or close by let me know!

I would not doubt that for a minute!

Old Town looks nice. But why shouldn't OP look for the sort of home they want? If the family likes space around them and wants property for kids , dogs, gardens, etc why not outer Mclean or Great Falls or Potomac or areas near it? Why do people assume if parents are gay they want a small lot and a hip funky neighborhood?

I am the PP you quoted. I was not indicating where OP should or should not live. I was merely trying to correct the record about Takoma Park and Old Town.
