DisneyWorld -- What you wish you had known (not rides, etc., but parenting tips)

This is as important as Toy Story Rope Drop. If you get to the Sorcerer hat, you go back right to Mania but you have to go left of hat to sign up for Jedi training. You can split up if you want and then meet back. Jedi Training is awesome. It is free and a must do for Star Wars fans. So again, get there at 8:30am and be ready to sign-up. As long as you are there once they drop the rope, you will be fine. You might not have the exact time you want, you get what you get. The earlier you get in line, the earlier time slot you get.

Get there at rope drop and RUN DO NOT WALK to the stage where they line up for this event. We did this and got a 2PM timeslot for our kids. Remember that you have to have your kids with you in line in order for them to get a slot - you can't just run ahead and sign up your kids. But yes, doable, we didn't have any special reservations or anything, just got there when the park opened and that was the first thing we did. Kids loved it! Added bonus: the Star Tours ride was right next door, and the kids loved it, I think we rode it 5 times consecutively before the park got crowded enough that there was a line. Have fun!

Yes! You should split up - one parent and the kids go left at the Sorcerer hat, the other parent go right at the hat to TSM. Although you might be able to do both via the new Magic Bands - I went before Magic Bands.

We did the Jedi academy 2weeks ago. I already had fast passes for Toy Story Mania as I booked them 30 days before through the my Disney app. We were at the park before opening and were maybe 10th in line at the entrance to the park. As soon as we got in we went straight (ran) to the ABC sound studios to sign up. We were maybe 10th or so in line and got the 10:10 show. we were at the park on a relatively low attendance day. Like PP mentioned you have to have your kids with you when you sign up. My kids 6 and 8 really enjoyed it. Even though we had fast passes for Toy story we went back and rode it again. We waited maybe 20 minutes.

Don't try to see everything. My kids really enjoyed chilling and playing in the fort at Tom Sawyer's Island. A little break from the activity.

Yes, be at DHS by 8:40am at the latest. Be right near the rope drop and have DH run ahead. You will meet up with him in the line with the kids. Register and then go immediately to Toy Story Mania. Ride it twice if wait is less than 20min. Star Tours is awesome but the line is never that long so that is a good mid day ride.

Take breaks and enjoy the playgrounds (Fossil in Animal Kingdom, Honey I shrunk the Playground in Hollywood Studios) and make sure to do the night parade and fireworks in Magic Kingdom the first night you are there. After that, if you are ever at MK at night, do rides during those events. They are EMPTY!!
