| At 2 month's no doctor can tell if an infant is or is not at risk of obesity. The nanny is right to question his or her judgement. |
Gradual calorie restriction compared to growth would be dropping one feeding every few days or every week until his weight stabilizes, with frequent weight checks. What protocol did the doctor suggest? Are the parents doctors? |
| My husband has a coworker who had to drop feedings of her BF baby because we was obese. Like OP's employer, this woman worked a lot and when she was around the baby nursed constantly for comfort and attention. Perhaps that is what the issue is here. If the mom is barely around at 8 weeks, the baby might be comfort eating. |
A pediatrician actually asked what a 2 month old was"eating"? |
Right?! Did he expect her to say he was eating snack cakes? |
Op here. Lol i think he meant as in "BM or Formula?" |
| My kid weighed 29 lbs at her 1-year checkup. She was in the 90's for height and weight. She was a total chub, and the doctor did say we wanted to keep an eye on it. Once she started walking, she got taller but didn't really gain weight- she was 30 lbs at her 2-year checkup. At age 5.5, she's still a fairly heavy kid, but her BMI has steadily come down because we've kept an eye on her diet and kept her very active. (playground, ballet, gymnastics, soccer, swimming, biking, hiking.) |

Drs are becoming obsessed with weight and now they have just lost their minds apparently.
Infants are supposed to be fat. |
| How many ounces is the infant eating and how many breastfeeding sessions does he have in 24 hours? |
