Has anyone rented to a section 8 tenant or been a section 8 renter?

I believe that children who still require adult supervision, and should not legally be left alone (is that 12 and under?), can attend public school in the district where their after-school care or other adult supervision is located. The family at issue can probably claim (no one said they were teenagers in any post) that the person who watches them after school (either their mother, father, or the homeowners) live or work at the address in question within district boundaries. I have also encountered several of my children's classmates over the years who were living with either relatives or family friends for a variety of reasons, and they were allowed to attend school where their surrogate family lived.

I am the previous McLean poster, and I should point out that my postings on this thread have purposely obscured or changed some pertinent details to protect all parties concerned. For example, when I refer to the size of my house, I have used a square footage that is either somewhat larger or somewhat smaller, so that the house is not readily identifiable. I have similarly used details about street and setting that are slightly or somewhat different. Importantly, I have altered some information about the ethnicity, family size, employment, and other details of all concerned so that no one is easily identifiable. I may be of European origin, or Asian, or Latino, or African American, and the family we are helping may likewise be European, Asian, Latino, or African American. They may have one child, or perhaps four. The parent may be a cleaning lady or someone who works for a business.

I do not want people like the poster above to find those single-child families living in 7500+ sq. ft. houses, who have Latina cleaning ladies, and think that this posting is about them.

Um, new poster to this, but I do this all the time, I thought everyone did? I never stay where I really live, the correct gender or my children, my real age, the school I attended or the sate I grew up in. Everything I post that is identifiable is altered. Seriously, you don't do this???

How much time do you think she has to devote to housework and general household maintenance? I promise it's very little as I am a single mom of just one kid working full time.

The outliers in the situation are those section 8 tenants who were previously home owners or upper middle class who fell on hard times.

Usually people who take pride in themselves and bettering themselves, rather than just existing to the status quo, tend to also take pride in their living environment. It's a character thing. New poster BTW, so you can have your freak out panic attack on me, not the poster you quoted.

There is more than one person who is commenting to the McLean poster about the family living illegally in her basement. I told the story about another town like McLean where the schools totally changed. My experience wasn't one of a race issue because the town already had a ton of diversity, truly. But it was about more bodies in the schools, and about the actual kids / families they were from etc. You may not like it or you may chalk it up to a race issue, but that wasn't the issue at the forefront. It was a sudden influx of students who had behavioral issues etc. Just a fact of life.
