DC Public and Public Charter Schools
| I am Not fighting it and not supporting the rule. Read what I wrote. I stated the facts and made the case that this man can say he is Black and should not be derided for doing so. The reality is that no matter how much you want to fight it the rule is alive and well. This is a fact. I have close friends who have suffered because of it. We are not post racial and fundamentally things have not changed all that much no matter what your view. The second we accept that things are new and different today is the second that folks like you decide there is no need for affirmative action and race based preferences. The fact that he can get a cab in DC is irrelevant to the broader discussion. |
| ^^^ This! Thank you. I don't understand why African Americans are most ardently and vocally behind policies from the Antebellum past that served to assure whites of their "racial purity". It's so ironic and awful. Also, anyone who views a person of color, whatever that may be, as inferior (1/2 a person, 2/3s or whatever) is a racist person, which qualifies him/her as not a good person. This also applies to African Americans who promote white racial purity. I'm an African American married to a white man who's 1/256 African. His DNA test showed that he had 2% African genetics. 93% Northern European. 5% Asiatic, most likely Native American. He identifies as white, as did his ancestors for many generations going back. Sorry if that upsets white purists including the African American who promoted the racism of Plessy vs. Ferguson. |
I agree that racism is alive and well because of people like yourself who work hard to promote white racial purity. If you want this world to become post-racial, try looking in the mirror to figure out why it's not. People with your views, that elevate whiteness are the problem. I believe African Americans are equal to white people, so the idea of racial purity is absurd. It's also absurd on any level that studies race- anthropology, genetics, sociology, etc... The real problem is that victims of racism have become very hardened and incapable of stepping away from the mental chains that bind them. The irony is you seem to desire a post-racial culture, but your viewpoints subvert that. No wonder we're not getting anywhere. Wake up! |
It's funny how you racists drum up racists policies from the past to support your hatred and then run and hide with "I'm not supporting it". Then why'd you bring it up, hypocrite. No one else mentioned the supposed "rule" but you. I don't believe there is a "rule". If I'm wrong, please point to current legislation or policy where a person of any African ancestry is required to affirm him/herself as black in the greater society. Not only will you not find that, you'll find that the very reason why the United States government changed the policy on categorizing races was because there is no culturally or legally accepted definition of race. Also, I truly believe people can identify as whatever the hell they chose; however, I find that white people with "a drop" of African blood are doing so in large numbers so they'll be accepted by the black community. It's actually an act of dishonesty and cowardice IMO. But, again, I support their right to do so. |
Which essentially means both are fakes, right? So it is perfectly legitimate to question rules that make no sense. |
If you scream nonsense a bit louder, you may Wake up yourself! |
Could you please explain how this "rule" is alive and well and where it is law? I get the feeling it's more of a rule in your head and yours alone. In which case, please get thee to a shrink and quick! |
