| A NP here. We feel lucky to have found someone so knowledgeable about medications. We've been happy with Dr. Conlon. |
| I have been able to get in to see Dr. Conlon. He came highly recommended and I tried for appt. in Aug/Sept. 2011 I was told appts were being taken for Jan. 2012. I saw someone else, was not totally happy and called his office again. I agreed to take any cancellations at any time. I was told "tomorrow at 1:00" I pulled my daughter from school, we made the appt and have returned. So far we are happy with the way things are going. I would go on a wait list or accept cancellations. Good luck. |

Glad it worked out for you!!
I've posted on here before defending Dr. C even though we too have experienced the "lost in space" report. There are so many frustrations trying to do right by a child with SN and I have encountered too many unhelpful professionals-some of whom do more harm than good. This is why it is so refreshing to deal with Dr. C. He truly cares. He takes the time to connect with the child and parents. He has empathy. He leaves us with a sense of hope. He makes great recommendations. And...he admits when he doesn't know something. I swear some professionals would rather bullsht us than admit that they don't have all the answers. |
We have never seen Dr. Conlon but had a similar experience when we took our son to a developmental pediatrician at Children's a few years back. Never got a report. Our son was in a bad mood that day and is shy to begin with. They said orally they didn't see any issues. In the meantime, DS has an ADHD and anxiety diagnosis and has an IEP. We're going to be doing a private neuropsych evaluation and see what we learn. It's a journey, we keep telling ourselves... |

Anyone have a current number or email address for Dr. Conlon....the number that seems to be listed for him on lots of websites seems to be incorrect. Thanks in advance!

Dr. Conlon: 301.530.9200
He's very nice but it's taken a while to get a report. And it's hard to get in touch with him when you have questions. He has told us that he has ADHD so that seems to be the reason things get dropped. We have also seen someone at Children's who, within an hour, diagnosed ADHD and wanted to give medicaiton. Also saw Dr. Pamela Compart in Columbia. I like her a lot but will stick with Dr. Conlon as he is closer. |
| I was told about a month ago that he was not accepting new patients. |
| We were new patients as of November. Did you hear that from someone at his office? |
| 10:21 here. Yes, I called the office, probably end of December and that is what they told us. |
| We also called for an appointment in December and were told he is not taking new patients. |
| NP- I'm still waiting on my report from Dr. C after an initial appt in early December. I connected with him via email and he promised to send it, but that was weeks ago and it still hasn't materialized. I'm hoping to get it before the all important CIEP meeting next week. There were a couple of other items that he promised to follow up on from our consult, but never did. As for the consult, I got the same warm fuzzies that others mentioned, but when it came down to diagnosing my kiddo, he said he would have to "take a stab at it" and said he would give us an ASD diagnosis if it would help for reimbursement purposes -- seriously, I just want an accurate picture of what's going on with my kid! I hear what others are saying about his caring demeanor, but I'm having a hard time with his lack of follow up and may just kick him to the curb. |
I suggest you keep following up with him by email and make sure he's aware of your deadline. I know you shouldn't have to but I've found it effective. I've seen a lot of bad providers and, for me, it's been worth having to keep following up. |
| We're still waiting on a report from a September appointment. I am so ticked off right now. No response to emails, and I've mentioned deadlines. I just left a message with his office. If I don't hear back today, I'm going to be shopping for someone new. |
| FWIW, I was just able to make a new-patient appointment for June (they were extra helpful because I'm moving overseas at the beginning of July, but still...) |
But still what? It's May, a June appointment is great, no? |
