Don't tip and when your nice delivery guy is replaced by some ex-con who will work for peanuts. My delivery guy brings dozens of bags into kitchen for us.We never tip less than 10$ for 200$ order.

The service is a courtesy. The drivers get paid only 11 an hour. They make 15-20 deliveries daily, so it's not like it's just your house 1 stop.
The work is really physical demanding think about all the heavy things you have ordered like for instance case of 24 pack water or the 2 ltr sodas.
At least I think that everyone should tip these guys and girls for their tremendous hard work. Not easy lifting stuff ALL DAY long especially in the rain snow,
Freezing temp's or 90+ heat. I always tip my driver depending on how much I ordered. Think about it like this if you were to carry the stuff inside would you do inside for 5 or 10.
Be courtesy to these hard working folks. You tip the pizza man 2-3 bucks for 1-2 pies. These guys are bringing in 200-300 dollars worth or groceries inside your house.

Oh my...if they go beyond what they are supposed to do - sure go ahead and tip them. If they bring your bags to your doorstep that's their job and doesn't deserve a tip. If they bring 5 bags and 2 cases of water into your kitchen absolutely give them five bucks! It all depends...tipping is for extra services done not for services that you already paid for by using the delivery service in the first place.

I give a five dollar bill. The guys take everything through the house to the kitchen.

I'm not afraid of not getting all of my stuff, I see this as an extension of the practice of simple gratitude.

Yesterday, I ran into the mailman and offered him some of the soft peppermints I'd just picked up at CVS. A simple gesture that left both of us with a smile.

Is it really that complicated?

Ex-cons are either given a chance by society or alienated by it and forced back into the bad behaviors left to them. Tip.

And can we please stop with the labeling? An ex-con shouldn't be wholly defined by that status.

Don't tip the delivery people! Their living wage is not your problem. If they had just worked hard like you did, they'd be having their groceries delivered to their own $700K+ home.

<insert eye roll here>

What is it worth to you if the bags were dropped off in driveway? Tip the driver.....they are paid to deliver to house not bring into kitchen...your getting food delivered to your house!!! Go shopping for 2 hours if your that cheap.

The better you tip the better your service. If you can afford to get your groceries delivered you shouldn't be worrying about a 10-15$ tip.

We always tip $8-10 depending on the size of the delivery. Today's was two boxes, tipped $8. I take them at the door.

I love peapod.

I hate tipping peapod (but of course I do). They are always late. Safeway doesn't allow tips and their windows are only an hour. Not as crazy about the product selection, but way more happy with the delivery.

Just so you know...all you people tipping are enabling the problem of low wages. Sorry to burst your bubble but the only reason low wage jobs can stay low wage jobs is that people keep buying into the myth that it's their responsibility to make up for what the workers aren't being paid in the first place. The only way to make people earn honest wages is to stop tipping because as long as people make enough money through tips they will not ever fight for making enough money through fair wages. It's just the easy way put but it's not the solution to the problem.

If it says "delivery to your doorstep" and they deliver to your doorstep - don't tip.
If it says "delivery to your doorstep" and you ask them to bring it into your kitchen and they do - tip for the extra service.

Don't tip for services you pay for with the initial charge. Tipping is for exceptional service and if you truly want fair wages you should stick to that.

Usually five dollars, ten if it's a big order or the weather is bad. The drivers don't have the political power to change the laws that allow low wages, so stiffing them doesn't help.

Tipping is the reason I do not use peapod
