I just tried it and got what are capers what are carbs what are the tony awards what are the 10 commandments Nothing to do with anything I was thinking about. Agree that the first must be because I had this page open. |
Small pieces of information can be gathered and assembled...aggregated...to form a cohesive whole based on its parts. That process can be very complex, but there are theorists who develop sophisticated analytical methods to aggregate information. That's why Google knows what you're really likely looking for.
Google is not the only organization that uses information theory. On the other hand, there's so much information, and so few "viewers," that in the end - nobody cares what you're doing on the Internet. |
Google predicts everything i want...i am confused too |
Ok this has been happening to me almost regularly, I will be in a conversation with a group of people about something and want an answer, example, we were trying to figure out how tall my 9 year old might be when he grew up, if he was going to get the tall gene from his father or me, blah blah blah, we wanted to know first the average height of a man, I picked up Google and typed in, what is the... Google responded immediately with....
Average height of a male Average height of a female I was totally freaked because like I said this has been happening a lot lately, then I figured it out, when I updated the last time or maybe 112 last times ago, I gave Google permission to access my friends list, my email, and yes... ready for it... MY MICROPHONE, don't believe me, go in your play store and look at the last update and see what you gave permissions for. And from now on I am very careful about speed clicking through those options just to get to the app I'm interested in, some apps I just won't use, but really shouldn't we be asking Google what in the hell would you need my microphone for?? |

Not the PP but roll your eyes all you want. Here's my example - DH and I had JUST started discussing possibly buying a new kitchen table. neither one of us had run any Google searches on tables as the conversation had literally just come up, out of the blue. Later that same day I started seeing online ads for the exact type of table DH and I had been talking about. And No, DH did not get online after our conversation to Google it. I dunno, you tell me!? |
Actually, I remember joking a year ago that Google had bugged my phone because things from conversations would start appearing in ads.
|
This is also happening to me.. |
One time dh and I were at bed bath and beyond. We got separated in the store so I went to the bedding section. We weren't looking for bedding but I saw a set I likes, I thought about texting him to come over but I didn't. Then I thought about taking a picture but I didn't. When we got home, I got on the computer and that same exact bedding showed up on an ad.

ok first of all sorry u guys but listen this website only knows what your "thinking" because of your browse history |
Google tracks across all google applications and applies those algorithms to your searches... If you say it in chat, gmail or google chrome they have that data. Try deleting your search history & cookies. |

Your search history. It can "remember" what you search because of your laptop/phone. |
