I JUST saw this guy on IG because he said "we're in a war..." then when a reporter clarified that we are in fact in a "war" (as incredulously the MAGA talking point is THIS IS NOT A WAR) he denied it, and then other reporters started calling him out for what he'd said 2 seconds earlier. Had no idea who he was.

The bigger question here is that Democrats SHOULD NOT CONCEDE ON THE DHS FUNDING. The GOP will point to this change of leadership as an additional reason to start afresh and grant more money to the department, but no. Not at all. We want guarantees that ICE isn't going to be nearly as inhumane and brutal as they've been.
