Little things at work that drive you nuts. I’ll start

I like medium rare and had no idea it had to do with James Bond.

Consultant -

Our offices HVAC broke recently so there’s a consistent slight whistling noise 24/7 from each of the vents. It enhances the experience of our RTO mandate.

In general, going to a client site where the client is knowingly going to be unavailable because they’re in other work related meetings all day or they just leave right after lunch leaving us in their office alone. My bosses send us to show face and build the relationship while these client grunts where talking too do everything they can to avoid us face to face.

As the client, the reason I hire consultants, aside from independent opinions, is that they have in house expertise to complete their job without asking me a lot of questions!! You are defeating the purpose here 😆

I am another consultant, not with Feds. I wouldn't accept clients who disappear. Unfortunately, too many clients have this attitude, which is I hired you and now it's not my problem and I will not be involved.

Depending on the sort of consulting, regardless of how much experience and expertise the consultant has, the client needs to be a part of the work. Otherwise it's a waste of your money and you are making the consultant guess at things you could easily take 5 minutes to explain.

I still am laughing about the "I am new" coworker that preened proudly as she s l o w l y asked her useless question.

Oof, this one.

This sort of thing always makes me a bit sad. Some people just never get socialized out of this and it's such a drag. There have been a couple of times I've actually said some version of your last sentence above (and sometimes it has made a difference!).

"Young people who can't/won't/don't like to talk to others on the phone - this is required at most places of work."

YES but let's take out the young and even phone. Any person who acts like they never have to have a (quick, purposeful, clarity-and decision-reaching) verbal back and forth.

I can't believe no one has said people who respond with a meeting outside of the windows of availability that you just provided. "I'm free 11-2" << meeting request for 2:30 >> AHHHH

The bcc from a direct report with no context, clearly done to justify their existence and prove they are working. All it does for me, the manager, is force me to read the whole thread and see if there is something I need to do. So maddening.

When someone consistently waits until 4:30 Friday to ask for approval or access for something that they knew (or should have known) they needed much earlier in day.
Someone who always inserts "you know" into any verbal update they provide.

Conventionally very attractive young women in board-/VIP-facing roles who lack the skills to be there.

People who don't get to the point and action needed in emails.

People who never respond to emails (day or 2, please)

People misspelling my name. People calling me by the only other female executive's name (hello we're not the same race even)

Excessive internal zoom calls where the only purpose is to socialize. Was on a team like that before and it drove me insane - I liked my coworkers but I desperately needed that time back as a new mom

I’m in sales and also getting a little tired of having every call recorded / being filmed all day
