It really is easy! And thus it is rather weird that they won’t clarify…especially when you have the principal of said ES doubling/tripling/quadrupling down and with footage that supports her.

Did the principle say it more than once?

She said it countless times to parents who asked. Then she put out a formal statement via parent square tueday 10:55 am (the day after the shooting) because so many parents emailed and asked in person.

Then she continued to maintain that he doesn’t show up on tape after 1:30 pm. Literally, she’s told me this in person at least three times.

Then when the article came out, she had an all staff meeting w Lakewood staff where she confirmed that the tapes show a police cruiser did a loop around our bus lanes for 45 seconds, never exists, and was off of Lakewood property by 1:30 pm. She told the staff that she has not lie and will continue to tell the truth, and asked all staff to tell the truth if parents keep asking as well.

It is really disgusting that you would lie like this.

Found the officer.

Or his wife. If you are the Mrs., he might be cheating on you and that could explain his whereabouts. Happened in Baltimore City.

So when did the officer arrive to Wootton once the shooting happened?

About an hour after it happened

You aren’t mad? Hope your kid’s school doesn’t have a shooting next.
You are absolutely dog shit if you think this is ok.

Let me guess, you think having a cop in the school would prevent it? Kind of like it did at Uvalde or Parkland?

Cops in schools are pointless and only create a false sense of security, as we've seen time and time again. Most cops are cowards. And they're all bastards and shouldn't be in any position to have any influence over impressionable school children.

Exactly!

Idk why this is so hard for people to understand. It doesn’t matter how effective or ineffective you think CEO SRO or an officer of any type is in school.

An officer saying he was on ABC location at the time of the shooting when he, in fact, was not as proven by footage is a problem in and of itself.

Is there proof of this? If he actually showed up an hour after the shooting, this is even more problematic for MCPS and RCPD. It proves he wasn’t at Lakewood.

Lakewood is a mile away from Wootton. Why would it take an hour for this guy to show up if he was at Lakewood? (Again, he wasn’t—footage prove this).

The footage did not prove he wasn't there. The footage is not from the time of the shooting.

Honestly, I don't think the CEO could have done anything about the shooting, so I'm not bothered that he wasn't on site. They're not supposed to be full-time at any one location anyway. Whether he was at another school or at Starbucks doesn't matter to me.

But I find the cross-stories really weird, and the failure to acknowledge them by MCPS even weirder. If the Lakewood principal has affirmatively stated the CEO wasn't there, then MCPS needs to acknowledge that statement is out there and address it - maybe principal is crazy, maybe there's some innocuous explanation, maybe (probably not) there's a sinister explanation, but for MCPS to just ignore it and pretend the principal never said it is really, really weird. It definitely makes what was probably a non-story look suspicious.

Which is why we need SROs, who are designated to a specific school and walk the halls. A criminal is less likely to commit a crime when the police are around. Could this shooting have been prevent if an SRO was there? We will never know.

I'm old enough to remember when we had SROs, and they were ALSO assigned to clusters.

are you old enough to remember that SROs were able to walk the halls and develop relationships with students, and that every HS principal asked that SROs remain in the HS? Are you old enough to remember that PG county next door, a county with a high URM population, voted to keep their SROs? Why do you suppose a county with a predominately URM population chose to do that?

The only reason the progressives in MoCo don't like SROs in the HS is because certain groups are more prone to activities that get them into trouble, like this incident at Wootton. Crazy that PG county with a black population higher than MoCo chose to keep their SROs. Things that make you go.. Hmmm...

We will never know if having an SRO would've prevented this tragedy in Wootton. Maybe the shooter would've committed this crime outside of Wootton, but at least the rest of the students in Wootton wouldn't be traumatized by this event. Have you seen the picture of the police going into the classroom with their assault rifles drawn, and the kids with their hands up? How terrifying for these kids.

School shootings seem to have gone up in the five years since SROs were removed. I am ever so glad to be done with MCPS and the progressives with their misguided policies this year.

Yes it was. Per our principal, he shows up for 45 seconds around 1:30 pm. He never shows up afterwards. She checked tapes from 1 through 3:30 pm.

That’s a 45 minute gap.
Shooting happened at 2:15 pm.

It’s only a matter of time before this footage is released to the public.

Stop helping the cover up.

I don’t know where he was. But I can tell you, he was:
Not at Wootton.
Not at Lakewood.

Exactly right! This is what our principal has consistently told Lakewood parents and staff since the shooting. Her story and the footage has never charged.

There is no footage available that proves the officer was not at Lakewood at the time of the shooting.

Actually Lakewood principal has sent this footage to her direct supervisors, as well as Dr Taylor.

Please verify your facts before you speak.

Ask Lakewood staff.

What groups would those be? Are you aware that 99% of school shooters are upper middle class white males?
