Any chance the 2 hour delay will change by 5am?

I know you're trolling, but the real issues are: 1) southerners who are simply irrationally scared of snow/cold, and 2) rich people downcounty who consider themselves above manual labor.

It’s not a matter of needing cover. It’s about the safety of children who walk. Y’all let yourself get dragged by the side plot. I really hope no one is killed or seriously injured today.

I hope you like eating crow.

Big problem is all of our illegals here are still too used to their sub tropical climates to be of use in a snow storm. Whats the point of being a sanctuary county if these people cant be useful when we need them to be

I don't know, my true southerner DH has never had a telework job so he learned pretty quickly after moving to this area what to do, he's always the first one on our street digging out his car. If he can adapt, there's no reason others can't.

Sure, it isn't everyone in each group. Anyone with an in-person job quickly learns how to deal with this. Unless their in-person job is at MCPS.

Umm, yeah, that's one example? Not sure what you're getting at, PP. There are a lot of other critical in-person jobs that allow society to function.

Parents had enough last week, and some privates decided to make their own decision and open Monday.

Sure, Jan.

Privates have been back and fully functioning as of last week. There's good reason we pay money to send out children to schools who do NOT follow MCPS.

We used to have subcontractors to the local governments who would attach plows to the front of their trucks (had a coworker’s husband that would do this) and they plowed the neighborhood streets, their trucks don’t have the horsepower to clear the kind of precipitation with this storm. I lived in the area for decades, this is new.

It's the mass and volume. And yes, we've had plenty of storms with similar masses and volumes of snow.

This was not just snow. This was new stuff.

Nope. I assure you they're all water.

You're older now and probably out of shape when it comes to shoveling.

Literally sip my tea to this for 10 minutes every morning. This is Lord of the Flies for overweight public school moms.
