Congrats! Are they going to go? DD was accepted and we all loved it, but she ultimately decided on another school. It is such a beautiful campus and a great sized school.

You mean they got into GMU test optional with a score below 1000, right? Because GMU is a 1360 at the 75th percentile; a 1260 at the median and the bottom 25th had a 1180, so getting in with below 1000 is unlikely. https://research.schev.edu/rdPage.aspx?enrollment&rdReport=Enrollment.B10_FreshmanProfile

Someone accepted into Geogetown (which doesn't do test optional) with an SAT score below 1000 must be a basketball player, child of a billionaire, or child of a head of state.

Or a kid who submitted their ACT.

For what it’s worth, my kid had a 1440, which was in an awkward place for submitting scores so they went TO to some schools but submitted to others. They’re still waiting on a few decisions next week but so far the only yeses have been from the test submitted schools.

Thank you for saying this! I have a kid (junior) with a 1440 and this is what I’m thinking we might need to do too. If you don’t mind say, which schools were yeses vs nos?

My 1440 DD got into BU test optional.

Math score was just below 25th percentile and we were coached not to submit.

My kid got into Northeastern TO this current cycle. Didn't apply to the rest of the PP's list so can't speak to the others.
