Sidwell and GDS have tons of PhDs in their faculty, especially Sidwell. And Potomac students are not at the same academic caliber as Sidwell/GDS/Maret kids and the non-athlete college matriculation + quality of students supports that. |
You have some grammar challenges. |

Sidwell and GDS have tons of PhDs in their faculty, especially Sidwell. And Potomac students are not at the same academic caliber as Sidwell/GDS/Maret kids and the non-athlete college matriculation + quality of students supports that. This is such a bizarre take. Don’t feel like arguing too much with strangers, but my kid got into 2 out of the 3 of Sidwell/GDS/Maret and we picked Potomac (for many of the reasons previously mentioned). |
My kids attend 2 of the Big 3. There's nothing special about Potomac, nothing! |
| Such a bizarre and unhelpful comment. Your kids attend "2 of the big 3." As a result, you think there's nothing special about Potomac because... what? Is it not special because they have exactly the same students, faculty, and outcomes as NCS/STA or Sidwell (or whatever school you think is a "Big 3"? Or do you have a constructive explanation of why you think Potomac is better or worse than the other options? I'm assuming that you realize that it's the same kids who gain admission to all these schools, so what about the experience differs? |
Potomac college results are in the same general league as all of the schools you mention. |
The top DMV school all have fairly analogous college matriculation with some deviation year to year. It's also hard to really see what's "behind the admits," as all manner of preferred admissions play roles: athletics, donors, legacy, etc. Given the current landscape of the Trump admin constantly threatening funding, it's also possible that the premier price tag schools will be looking for full pay families as much as possible in the next few years to make sure they aren't stressing budgets. To some extent, it doesn't matter where you go; if you don't have a hook of some kind, the premier schools are all rejecting more qualified kids than they admit. |

As a former Potomac parent, I agree with the the quote not the laughing/crying emojis |
