Do we know Chicago’s ED acceptance rate? Did you call Chicago admissions office to find out? |
No, there are like 3 of you that post here constantly than aren’t from dc but lost of us are local. |
Is Rice less interested in EC’s? |
Aren't they all? |
| You’ll have a more clear picture after this year’s round of admissions at your school, and then can drill down on data to make a decision about ED for your student in the fall of 2026. Have you started college visits already with your student? |
“Most”? Lol, no. |
Yes. Very stats driven, based on admits from DC's magnet. |
Anything like WashU that isn’t in a red state? |
| What is UChicago's acceptance rate for ED? |
Some folks at Reddit did a reasoned calculation based on available information. It's in the range of 20-30% for all ED rounds. Another reddit post calculates it to be close to 40%, but I suspect it's too high even for Chicago. |
It seems every other school reports this number, from Ivies to selective public colleges. Why is UChicago so secretive about this? |
I’m another one. So 4? |
Which science? Unless you have that part of the equation you are wasting her time. |
I think 20-30% is decent (not great). So that's not what they are hiding. What they are hiding is the percentage of class admitted through ED rounds. The reddit poster estimates this percentage to be around 70-80%, which is unusually high. Of course when you disclose ED acceptance rate, then people will know the percentage of class admitted through ED rounds. So, it's confidential. |
Quoting ridiculous percentages off of Reddit shows nothing other than you have an ax to grind, and are unable to find a reliable source, |
