It rattles you the speaker, it distracts others in the audience, and its rude, end of story. You are not POTUS, you don't have anywhere to be urgently on a lazy Sunday morning. Just wait for the priest to reach the last pew. This isn't rocket science.

If you’re sitting in the back and just leave after receiving communion, there is no rattling or disruption of anyone.

Not everyone has a 9-5 M-F job with endless free time on the weekends. There are people with jobs and other responsibilities. Jesus would understand.

Probably Jesus would understand. Still, it's rude.

So weird to see seemingly nice devout people, of all ages, do this every Sunday. Is waiting another literally 90 seconds going to change your life? I don't understand it. I get not wanting to wait for the entire last song to finish, but at least respect the priest enough until he gets to the last pew, right?

Catholics are VERY HUGE on sports ... they have to get to games and practices for their kids

Ask me how I know

The last time we tried to dash out a little early I left behind a Burberry scarf! It was returned, of course, but it was embarrassing. We now stay until the very end every Mass. I also think it's respectful to the musician(s) to listen to their last song.
