Jimmy Kimmel show cancelled.

He is very funny. MAGAS have no sense of humor--just one if your many shortcomings.

It’s fascinating that MAGA thinks they’ll be in power forever and government power will never be used against them to silence them.

Kimmell, cancelled in September, at the request of the president for remarks related to the murder of Charlie Kirk.

However, in reality, the remarks weren’t “about Charlie Kirk,” they were about how this administration is using Kirk’s death as an excuse to shut down critics … and the administration responded by proving Kimmel completely correct.

He said the murderer (Tyler) was MAGA.

So did the kid's grandmother.

His mother said he wasn’t. I’m sure there was a lot about him Grandma didn’t know

What does this matter for the issue at hand? Kimmel has a 1st Amendment right. A federal bureaucrat threatened his employer today unless ABC removed him from the air.

Big Government on steroids.

Nobody silenced his speech rights. He remains free to say whatever he wants to say.

ABC is a broadcast network, and as such it is rightfully regulated by the FCC. The comment dealt with whether ABC’s FCC licenses were in danger of being revoked by Kimmel allegedly engaging in misinformation.

Just as Fox News (a cable network, different regime) faced sanction over its speech in the Dominion lawsuit, ABC could face sanctions vis-a-vis its broadcast license if it is engaging in misinformation.

It seemed like one of the major ABC local station partners first pulled Kimmel off the air by choosing to preempt the national syndication in its markets and then ABC followed suit nationwide.

His ratings were pretty weak, and my guess is that this is really business driven but ABC now has the cover to cancel his show.

It looks like many have learned from democrats.

I'm loving the schadenfreude!

Gmafb, this is the government trying to silence political speech it doesn't like. The Dominion case was about defamation. Kimmel did not lie, Fox did.

Not tired of defiling the Constitution?

That’s a troll. Anyone with 2 brain cells can see this is completely authoritarian and actually very much what Kirk claimed to be against. They are using him to shut down people’s freedom of speech. How can anyone who is a big Kirk fan be ok with it?

Kirk's death was the best thing that could have happened to trump because it took Epstein off page one!

Free speech is being crushed in the name of supposed "free speech champion" Charlie Kirk.

What a SICK AND TWISTED JOKE.

Republicans, you are a bunch of disgusting hypocrites, and in the end it's you who're mocking Charlie Kirk.

You're literally describing the government attempting to shutdown his speech by threatening his employer into firing him. This is what the first amendment is meant to protect against.

This is straight up trashing the 1st Amendment.

Prove it. ABC is a private company and therefore, you don't have the first amendment through them.

Did you feel the same when ABC canned Tim Allen/Last Man Standing and also the Roseanne sitcom?

Roseanne's comment was directed to one person and it was racist to the core. The show was not pulled but given a new name, The Conners, and was on for 7 years!

Oh really? Provide me an example of a democratic governance official publicly threatening a company with retaliation if they don’t fire a specific employee for his speech. I’ll wait right here.
