Are sellers cutting prices in your area?

Yes in Fairfax County. Homes that would have listed for $2m in Feb now adjusting below $2m. Slowdown no doubt likely attributed to the ongoing economic and political drama

Yes. We got a great deal in 22201.

Friends apt near capital hill has been sitting for months (not sure if they have reduced the price yet) and aunt’s house on coveted street in CC MD is an exclusive this summer and won’t be listed until the fall due to the market being so bad. Those who need to get out or who can absorb cuts are cutting and those who need a certain price or who need time to adjust to the new market realities aren’t cutting yet.

Dramatic change from last year. Houses in our neighborhood were selling in three days with bids due by Monday night. This year the houses are sitting. We are just outside the beltway in Virginia.

same in desirable MoCo locations

3 examples in North Potomac that have sat for a month or more and have dropped prices a few times

The numbers DONT lie....read an yahoo article this am about the slowdown across the nation. Of course there will be small pockets of hot activity (just like the stock market) but there is an ongoing downturn in motion.

Yes, most info reflects May and June data. July data is probably showing these trends as more pronounced:

No, we were offered $2500 over asking for my dad’s house. It was an estate sale so the goal was selling it quickly, which we accomplished. It went under contract a week after it listed and close a month later. However, I’m sure we could’ve gotten more.
