DH and I differ on this. For me, why the heck would I not share my house and pool especially when I’m not there IF I know my friend(s) well. DH has an unspecified discomfort with it. He is really not a selfish person generally so I am stumped as far as his reasons are concerned. So every summer we leave an awesome house for six weeks and we never ever offer it to European friends or family who would love to use it and would do so with utmost care, and it’s such a waste of goodwill in my opinion.

Did you plebes spend your last dollar on the pool? Do you not have sufficient insurance to manage your risk here? Doesn’t seem very smart to me.
