Are men generally net savers and women net spenders?

I’m frugal. My husband is not.

I don’t think it’s a gender trait.

+1. The few divorces in our circle are due to spendthrift dads. Always interesting to see how people generalize online from tiny real life samples.

Per pp's, I spend more though because I buy everything for the kids and manage all their activities and appointments.

My biggest beef is all the times that DH has nixed my investment ideas. We would have been so much more wealthy if he didn't interfere. He grew up LMC and just thinks that way.

I keep all my money separate from DH's because I don't want him interfering with my investments. Although our salaries have always been about the same and we contribute more or less equally to expenses, my investments are worth about three times his.

Hilarious how women get offended if you point out that they are spenders but then create trusts and other machinations because they know if they die before their husband, some younger woman is going to come in and spend all his assets and deprive their kids of that money.

Despite being a woman I have somehow managed to amass a net worth that is not negative.

So: no.
