There is a consultant in McLean [Vienna?] that does this. He filters clients with PSAT scores and GPA. He justifies this by saying he isn't trying to get a Northeastern qualified kid into Harvard, he is trying to get a Northeastern qualified kid into Northeastern and the Harvard qualified kid into Harvard. The PSAT score isn't enough for him to tell you where you will get accepted but it is enough to tell him if it's worth paying him to help you. He charges $475/hour and he is not taking new clients at this time. |
I know a kid like this at USC. He is taking the easiest possible path to a USC degree and will go back with a shiny degree that will justify his dad leapfrogging him over other much more qualified employees. |
