I havent tried those but with how much she wets sometimes, I am not sure they will hold up all night. |
She would rather not have to wear one and really isnt embarrassed for having to wear one. She just doesnt like how they feel. |
There's a company that makes absorbent chux-pad like things that go on the bed that I've heard work very well. 'Goodnites Bed Mats' |
Yeah, a lot of kids say the seam where they tear apart is itchy. If she’s on the smaller side for her age she might be able to still wear a regular diaper. Those tend to be more comfortable and they stretch quite a bit. |
| DS7 kept having pee accidents because he didn’t want to stop what he was doing to go the bathroom, I told him many times he had to go to the bathroom as soon as he felt it but it kept happening, one day he got home from playing and I noticed he was wet and I had him take off his underwear and I took out a package of pull-ups, he had to wear one since we were going out, I told him he still needed to remember to go to the bathroom or he’d have to wear them to school also, he only had a few more accidents after that and has been more responsible about going |
| My daughter has been out of pull ups for two weeks and she was 10 yesterday. She simply didn’t wake up for the toilet during the night. No big deal. |
| How long do you allow them to wear it in the morning before they have to get dressed for the day? |
If it’s a no rush day I don’t see any harm for them to hang out in bedtime clothes for a little while in the morning as long as they are comfortable. |
If he was dry and we weren't going anywhere i didn't care if DS wore it all day and he frequently did, If he was wet i preferred that he changed as soon as he was fully awake. |
He would stay in pajamas all day? |
Not OP but till like 11am |
That’s reasonable. A lot of times I’m not even up myself until 10 or 11am |

I think there is a small percentage of kids who have true enuresis (bed-wetting) - and this has always been true. I think there is a MUCH larger percentage of kids who have been enabled by Pull-Ups which prevent them from experiencing the consequences of peeling while asleep. I think it is a shame that so many kids have to deal with this and pediatricians say it is "no big deal" - because with a little effort you can ditch the Pull-Ups and not sleep in a diaper at these advanced ages.
I have four children and the older two were in Pull-Ups WAY too long. TheraPee was like a miracle for my second (at age 8) so I used it on my third when he was 4. My youngest never wore a night-time diaper/pull-up after he was day trained (at age 2) and it was a non-issue. Pull-Ups are creating this problem for the majority of kids who are wearing them to bed after preschool. |
It’s a normal part of growing up, nothing you can do but be patient and pull-ups have just made it a lot easier to keep things sanitary. Parents used to spend hours washing sheets and bedding and for many kids it was traumatic. If you want to try alarms or medication that’s up to you but I would never criticize a parent who just waited it out. |
He slept with basketball shorts over his goodnites so he just never changed out of that. |
